What The "Underdeveloped" Teaches Us About Development
A glimpse into the Burmese countryside revealed:
Farm-to-table dining, pastured livestock, naturally grown produce, life interdependent with nature, simplicity, slow lifestyle, and off-grid homes.
Things we strive to have in fast-paced, disconnected, energy-dependent concrete jungles.
So if what's missing in "developed" communities is exactly what's abundant in "developing" or "underdeveloped" communities, what is really considered developed or not?
Underdeveloped, developing, developed.
This framework of categorizing where different nations stand oversimplifies the complexities of life's purpose as if it were linear, as if things were black and white, and as if there were only one way to go.
