15 Sustainable Fashion Brands With Secondhand Marketplaces
We love secondhand fashion and we love supporting sustainable fashion brands working to change the fashion system — so when we can have both? We're kind of obsessed.
These sustainable and ethical fashion brands are not only producing their garments in a socially- and environmentally-responsible way, but they're taking responsibility for their used garments and helping extend the life of their clothes through their resale programs.
The details of each program vary: some brands take back your clothes to clean, repair, and resell them while others are providing a marketplace that resembles Poshmark or Depop where individuals resell and ship out the clothes directly to buyers.
These marketplaces are a great way to find sustainable fashion more affordably, and in an even more environmentally conscious manner. Plus, of course, if you have pre-owned pieces from any of these brands, it's great knowing that there's an easy way to help those pieces get a second life when they no longer suit you.
Happy secondhand shopping — or selling!

1. Patagonia Worn Wear
Worn Wear from Patagonia is probably the most widely known repair and resale program. Patagonia also has a Seconds program where they resell pieces with flaws and a ReCrafted Collection with upcycled pieces.
2. EILEEN FISHER Renew
Slow fashion designer EILEEN FISHER is dedicated to designing garments to last. So, it's a natural extension of their mission to have a resale program to ensure that their pieces get the long life they were designed for.

3. Circularity by tentree
Known for planting traceable 10 trees for every item sold, Tentree has taken its earth-first goal a step further by keeping its products in circulation and out of landfills through its Circularity by tentree program. Created in partnership with textile recycler SuperCircle and resale platform Treet, the website is home to the brand’s gently-used pieces at a reduced price.
Customers are encouraged to send in their used tentree clothes where they will be either resold or responsibly recycled depending on their condition in exchange for store credit.
4. Coclico Pre-Loved
Coclico's beautiful shoes are crafted slowly in a workshop in Spain with attention to quality and detail. The conscious brand's footwear is built to last and their shoes are also an investment, so it makes sense Coclico would launch a pre-loved program to help customers more miles out of their used shoes (and some cash back!) while also offering people a more affordable way to access Coclico shoes.
5. Wolven Pre-Loved
Wolven is an eco-friendly activewear brand with leggings, sports bras, and tops made from recycled plastic bottles.
Continuing their vision for circularity, Wolven has a resale program where customers can buy and sell pre-loved Wolven garments. Similar to sites like Poshmark, the items are sold and shipped out directly by individual sellers.
6. Mara Hoffman Full Circle Marketplace
As part of Mara Hoffman's sustainability commitments, the designer has a marketplace dedicated to buying and selling pre-owned Mara Hoffman garments.
Customers can resell their pre-owned Mara Hoffman garments that were purchased directly from MaraHoffman.com or from third-party retailers in 2019 or later. Shoppers can then purchase these pre-owned garments directly from the resellers.
7. Fortress, Pre-Loved
Ethical footwear brand Fortress has timeless shoes crafted with quality materials and construction.
Designed to last the test of time, customers that no longer want their Fortress shoes can resell them on Fortress’ pre-loved marketplace and secondhand shoppers can buy these pre-owned shoes for a lower-than-new price directly from the resellers.
8. Boyish, Pre-Loved
Boyish creates sustainable denim using responsible materials and environmentally- and socially-responsible processes. As part of their sustainability commitment, Boyish has a pre-loved marketplace for Boyish customers to shop and sell pre-owned pieces from the Los Angeles brand.
9. Hackwith Design House Sustain Shop
Hackwith Design House is a slow fashion label with timeless, trans-seasonal garments designed with care. To lengthen the lives of their thoughtfully-made pieces, the brand created a secondhand program called HDH Sustain Shop.
The brand accepts their used pieces — even those with stains and small holes — to be reviewed. From there, garments are either directly resold, mended, or upcycled into something else.
10. Toad&Co Renewed
Worn Wear is Patagonia's official secondhand site where you can find pre-loved and repaired or refurbished Patagonia goods, factory off-cuts with slight imperfections at a discount, and “new” pieces made from the materials of used Patagonia clothing.
And, of course, if you have a piece from Patagonia, Worn Wear is a great place to sell back your used stuff or to have it repaired so you can continue wearing it!
11. Firebird Kids
There is a massive need for children's clothing brand resale programs as a way for parents to find affordable eco-friendly kid's clothes and a way to responsibly re-home any outgrown garments as well.
Thankfully the low waste label Firebird Kids offers a "Pass It On" program for anyone with children to do just that.
12. Altar
Portland-based slow fashion label Altar crafts their pieces in small batches from majority deadstock fabrics. Meaning: once a piece is gone, it's gone. But, now you might just have a second chance at a coveted piece with Altar's Pre-Loved Marketplace!
Many of Altar's pieces are size-inclusive too, ranging from XS-5XL. [Check out this guide for more places to find plus size secondhand clothing online.]
